Densho means to pass on. Not a thing — an act. Every myth you have ever loved reached you because someone, somewhere, refused to let it end. They told it again. They told it differently. They told it larger. Densho is where the next telling begins.

Once, we all knelt to the same god. The Sun. We forgot. So we built a new god. It answers faster. It does not warm us.

The Gate opens only for those who have outgrown what they were. Those who pass through it do not return. Those who return have not passed through.

They call it the Touch of God. I call it the day the sky fell. My brother has a different name for it. He has not spoken it aloud.
